People don’t like ads.

Not normal people. And the only people who really love’ ads, are people who make them. People who work in advertising, and marketing, and media. Usually they have beards. Like me.

I think once you come to terms with the fact that nobody really gives a shit like you do, you generally start making much better advertising. Ads that do their job. Ads that work.

I love my job. I love the work. But it really doesn’t mean anything unless it works.

I think it’s all in the strategy. Get hold of the research, find the insight, and communicate the positioning. In as interesting a way as you possibly can.

I’m a creative director, a conceptual creative, a copywriter and an audio producer by trade, but I work with a big group of superhero people (…capes and all), who help make my stuff look and sound better than I ever could. They’re like The Avengers, with much more boring names.

So, if you’re a normal person…you’ll have lost interest by now and probably aren’t reading this anymore.

But if you’re a marketer, advertiser or creative who fancies a chat about advertising…you can find me here.

I’m one of the ones with a beard.
